The Rumford Industrial Group's new office and warehouse facility is located on a four-acre site just south of the new interchange at Interstate 75 and Austin Road.
The design incorporates continuous banks of windows at the building perimeter in order to bring in natural light into the interior to reduce artificial lighting energy needs. Additional efforts to reduce energy consumption include exceeding standard insulation requirements in the walls and roof systems.
The plan takes advantage of existing vegetation and supplemented it with extensive new landscaping to screen the perimeter of the site. A large outdoor patio area is included for employees to enjoy the outdoors during lunch breaks.
The exterior fenestration consists of a combination of utility brick and exterior insulation finishing system for a low maintenance and contemporary appearance.
