Carriage Hill MetroPark

Client: Five Rivers MetroParks

Huber Heights, Ohio

Project Responsibilities: Concept Design, Cost Estimating, Construction Documents, and Construction Observation

Carriage Hill MetroPark is a 900-acre living history farm that immerses visitors into farm life of the late 1800s. Chambers Architecture has completed miscellaneous projects at this living history park, including

  • The restoration of a mid-19th century cooling shed and summer kitchen located next to the main farmhouse. The project involved careful analysis of the existing brick-and-mortar in order to perform a restoration in accordance with the National Park Service guidelines.
  • Construction of a courtyard adjoining the existing visitor’s center. The courtyard incorporated a pergola, stone seating walls, outdoor furniture, and surrounding landscaping of native grasses and forbs.
  • Construction of a wheelchair accessible boardwalk fishing pier at one of the park’s lakes.
